Fundy Golf Club
Alma, NB

SnakeJul-26-2007
Greens: 6/10Average size greens with a bit of contour. Very tough green contour on hole #6.
Condition of greens were average.

Fairways: 6/10Much like the condition of the greens. Most tee shots allowed for some error.
Poor yardage markers throughout course.
Tees: 7/10Enjoy the view before taking your tee shot. Bring your camera to take pictures from the tees of #1, #6, #7, and #8.
Course Design: 8/10Dogleg #2 had a temporary green which we were not informed about before playing. The changes being made were almost complete and the modifications look exceptional.
Great elevations throughout the course.
Hazards don't jump out at you but there are a few to be wary of.
Value for $$$: 8/10A great course to play between visiting the tide changes at Hopewell Rocks. We visited the high tide, played Fundy, then went back to Hopewell Rocks for the low tide. Timing was perfect.
Many will want to take a cart as this course is a tough walk.
A fun course for the whole family and not badly priced for 9 holes.
Difficulty: 8/10A good challenge. The elevations make club selection difficult (as do the lack of yardage markers).
Scenery: 9/10Very scenic course.
One of the few times I could look in the water hazards and easily see bottom. Very clean.
Staff: 7/10No beverage cart to be found but there isn't always one on a 9 holer. Weather was in the 30s so a cool drink would have been welcomed.
Clubhouse: 6/10Pro Shop is very plain inside and out but the attached restaurant looks very special. I'd have no trouble stopping by the restaurant just for a meal without golf.
Other Intangibles: 8/10First time I have ever seen iron washers accompanied by ball washers at tee boxes.
Two practice greens available. One quite large but with only 2 holes.
Scorecard yardage differs from signage.
Marshal had to give us directions to the 4th hole. He seemed to say he had to do this to most visitors. Perhaps add some signage?
73/100
Glorious view. I'd love to play Fundy again on a cool fall morning.
Don't be afraid to go out of your way for this 9 hole course.
