Carman Creek Golf Course
Fredericton, NB

SnakeJul-24-2007
Greens: 6/10Greens are an average size for an executive style course. Not much contour.
Fairways: 5/10No real yardage markers are required as the scorecard yardages are quite accurate. However, yardage markers are present on the par 4s. Par 4s are tight and using a driver off the tee can easily produce reward or penalty.
Tees: 5/10A bit uneven and worn.
Signage shows hole layout so a scorecard is a must carry.
Three sets of tees varying by about 10 yards each.
Course Design: 5/10Flat course. An excellent walk for senior or a young family. A great learning course.
Value for $$$: 6/10If you're staying at the Ramada in Fredericton you can get a discounted green fee. Check with the Proshop before you play as there are some daily specials.
Difficulty: 5/10Carman Creek seems to get increasingly more difficult from start to finish with yardage increasing on almost every hole.
Scenery: 6/10A nice view of the St. John River can be seen from a few locations.
Staff: 8/10No beverage cart seen or expected.
Carman Creek should only take about 1 1/2 hours to play. Proshop attendant informed me of the Men's discounted pricing the night before the day we played. Thanks!
Clubhouse: 3/10Stop in for the basics. Proshop is used for the Carman Creek 9 hole course, driving range, and mini putt.
Other Intangibles: 5/10Scorecard is simple and shows the basic course outline. Course follows a near obvious route.
54/100
Apparently the course gets flooded every spring by the St. John River. It's quite remarkable that this course can recover to decent playable conditions.
