| Greens: |  9/10 | The greens at Kelowna Springs have many different shapes that are well protected by numerous bunkers and they have interesting contours and swales. They were fast and in good shape. There are plenty of areas where pins could be placed. The fringes were excellent and the bunkers were in great shape with plenty of sand and rakes. There are three double greens on the course, one for 1 and 8, 10 and 17 and one for 13 and 15. Course knowledge is an asset as you want the best approach to the green as you can get.

| Fairways: | 9/10 | The fairways were in excellent shape and very wide and forgiving. There is no way you could loose a ball if you got off the fairway as the first cut extended all the way to the next fairway. This first cut was in excellent shape, well maintained and of even height. There were very few trees lining the fairway but enough to hinder your next shot if you strayed from the fairway. Fairway bunkers were in good shape with enough rakes. Even though the fairways are very wide, water does come into play on 10 or 11 holes so be careful. Fairways were well marked including 125 and 175 yardage markers as well as the traditional markers. | Tees: | 9/10 | The tees were excellent with everything you needed from ball washers to nice stone distance markers. The landscaping was very good around the tees and nice curbing, shelters, and benches were present. Number 12 and 17 share a large L shaped tee box |
| Course Design: | 9/10 | This is another Les Furber course and it shows in the amount of the water and bunkers. The course opened for play in 1990. The trees have matured and they make this flat course very attractive, especially the hardwood varieties. There are plenty of bunkers protecting the greens and the ones in the fairways are located in the appropriate places. The course is not a long course and it has very wide fairways but the water and bunkers make you play the right club and think about ball placement. Number 14 has water on both sides so an accurate drive is very important. Hole number 15 and 17 are excellent holes. Number 15 is a par five with water on the right and an extremely well protected green. Watch your ball placement as you might have to go over a ½ dozen bunkers. Number 17 reminded me of one of the finishing holes you might see on the PGA. It is 401 yards from the blues, dogleg right with water on the right protecting the green. You second shot will bring the water into play. All the holes are unique and interesting to play.

| Value for $$$: | 9/10 | If you play after 12 the green fees are only $45. They also sell a 10 round punch pack for $350 for play after 11 AM. The punch pack is transferable so a husband and wife could play 5 rounds each during a week of holidays. They also participate with two other courses in offering a three round tour pack for $102 for play after 11AM. Power carts are electric and have GPS. The green fees do not include power carts but the course is very flat so walkers will have no problem unless it get very hot.

| Difficulty: | 7/10 | The course is not difficult if you play target golf. The slope is only 116 from the blues and 104 from the reds. The yardage from the blues and reds are 6241 and 5225 and it has a par of 71. The fairways are very generous and rough or trees do not come into play very much. As mentioned above the water and the sand is what protects this course. |
| Scenery: | 7/10 | When you drive to the course you go through an industrial area that makes you wonder about the possible setting for the course. When you are on the course you do not notice the industrial area, all you see are very expansive views of the valley, fruit farms and the lakes (seven in all) and the trees on the course. When we played the fall foliage was very spectacular. Combining the views, the trees, the lakes and the condition of the course makes Kelowna Springs a very attractive course to play |
| Staff: | 9/10 | We meet a lot of staff during our visit to Kelowna Springs. We found them all to be very proud of their course. The pro shop staff were very helpful when answering questions about the course and getting us checked in. The restaurant staff knew the course and offered suggestions on how to play it. The marshal was friendly and carried cold water for the golfers. The beverage cart lady was very nice and the cart came by a number of times during the round. |
| Clubhouse: | 8/10 | The clubhouse is very nice. Our experience started when we drove through a very nice gate and up to an attractive area to drop the bags. The parking lot is paved and the area they built to house and recharge the power carts is innovative and attractive. The pro shop was well equipped, and the restaurant had a very good menu. They have a larger room for tournaments and two balconies. There was a snack bar located in the club house that you passed as you made the turn. The area around the clubhouse is very well landscaped with a nice water feature and many flowers. |
| Other Intangibles: | 9/10 | There are lots of things that the management has added to this course over the years. The cart paths are curbed and paved. The marking for the tees are very attractive. The washrooms are neat, clean, well placed and have running water. There are a number of cold water, electric water coolers placed around the course. The tees have everything you need and near a few of them there are attractive areas for shelter or waiting for the tee box to clear. The marshals also carry ice cold water so you can refill your water bottles. They have a putting green beside the first tee and an 18 hole putting course designed by Les Furber. This course can be enjoyed by all golfers of all abilities |

We were very impressed with Kelowna Springs and I always enjoy a Les Furber course. It is a recommended play when you are in Kelowna as it represents very good value. The we were there was hot and sunny with cloudless blue sky and the trees were decorated with their fall colours. This course is great for everyone, seniors, couples or the low handicappers. |
