The Dunnderosa Golf Club is an executive golf course located in Chelsea, Quebec, neighbouring the Mackenzie King Estate and the Gatineau Park, a national treasure of Canada.
Only one tee box is available. The course yardage varies between 100 yards to the lengthy first hole of almost 200 yards. The tee boxes were very chewed and extremely hard, but the past week of warm weather is probably a contributing factor. Some of the tee blocks were set so far back you couldn't put your ball behind the blocks as a back leg would be positioned on the back decline of the tee. Yardages were very accurate according to my GPS.
The greens were like postage stamps but this is usually the case for executive courses. I was only able to hit two greens in my round. A number of greens have far too much slope (7, 12, 17, and 18) which is probably why the cut of the grass is a bit long. A firm putting stroke is required.
The back nine was tight and more scenic than the front. Trees were more abundant on the back and some narrow passages between trees will be tough for new golfers (as well as some experienced).
The scorecard is extremely well done.
There is also a mini putt course on site that was very busy.
I was told the washroom near the 5th tee was, "right out of a horror movie." I didn't venture to find out for myself.
The Dunnderosa Golf Club is a fine learning track for a new golfer looking to hone their game.
I was very surprised at the number of healthy people using power carts on the course. There is a bit of up and down but many of these golfers should be getting there exercise.
