Enjoy the lovely coastal views and breezes of the Northumberland Strait while playing this interesting 18-hole par 70 layout. Or choose to play only 9 holes, the scenic open front or the challenging coastal back nine. This course is a "good walk" in unspoiled Prince Edward Island.
The layout of the front nine provides an opportunity for scoring well. The panoramic coastal holes are different and challenging. This is enjoyable golf.
Glen Afton is located 20 minutes west of Charlottetown and 35 minutes from the Confederation Bridge. Public beaches are located 2 miles from Glen Afton Golf Course.

Size of the greens are just right. Play starts with greens having little contour and then some is progressively added through the round.
Fairly wide fairways and in decent shape for the current hot spell PEI was encountering.
The yardage was occasionally difficult to determine but you won't encounter any hidden greens so the path of play is always visible.
Two sets of tees playing approximately 5500-6000 yards. All tees are slightly raised and of average size.
Score well on the front nine because the back is much tougher.
Hole #10 is a beautifully elevated par 3 that's a tough hole to determine distance because of the elevation. Cross the road and add in 4 more holes that will make or break your game.
Not a lot of hazards but keep to the fairway. Wind is a definite factor at Glen Afton. BTW, bunkers do have that reddish tinge to them.
Glen Afton would clearly win the 'Best Value Under $40' if located in Ottawa, Ontario. A great course to host the Company tournament.
Glen Afton is a links style course and therefore is playable by all caliber of golfers. A great course to take the family. I didn't think the course was all that difficult but you would never know it by looking at my scorecard.
Not a lot to see visually until you play along the Northumberland Strait on holes #12 and #13. The course is very, very clean.
Staff was extremely helpful and cordial. The patio crowd sounded cheerful to the point I wished I was with them. I didn't happen to see a beverage cart out and about and it was hot enough to warrant a drink or two while playing.
The pro shop is clean, organized, and a little close to the 9th hole as Brodie (a playing partner) would attest. Quaint.
    Ample parking.
    I'm glad I didn't play on a windy day.
The new scorecard is a big improvement. Although there isn't a course layout on the card one can be provided in the Pro Shop. Without the course layout the course could possible be difficult to navigate for a first timer.
Of all the course in PEI this is the only one I played. I played with 3 locals and enjoyed myself immensely.
Guys, in answer to your question, "Of all the courses in PEI, why did you pick Glen Afton?" Glen Afton is a course that fits my budget. There will always be pricier and grander but playing within my means will only produce a better chance of enjoyment.
    Thanks, Merina!
