Played in the Whitetail 3-Man Scramble September 19-20. Course is still in good shape and the reviews are still accurate.
The slideshow has been updated with photos from September 19th.

Very good conditioned greens with a small touch of contour.
Fairways have decent width with yardage markers easy to find. I imagine the course is feeling the recent 'hot spell'.
Hole #2 (visible by the highway) is greatly improved and is now a representation of the rest of the course.
Occasionally a rough patchon tees. Many are elevated.
Excellent course design. I wide selection of elevations and hazards. No two holes seem alike.
Good club selection is imperative.
A bit more expensive than other courses in the area but it is a superior course. Whitetail is a must play!
Our scores were quite decent considering the difficulty of the course. You don't want to leave yourself short on the elevated greens.
Very pleasing to the eye. Water and elevations make this course a gem.
Thick underbrush will make looking for a ball an adventure.
The name Whitetail seems to indicate that deer could be encountered on the course. Alas, there was none to be found.
We had the first tee-off time in the morning but when the beverage cart started it was around regularly.
Staff was pleasant and friendly. The norm.
Clubhouse is not overly big but is a very nice design. It looks very appealing when driving in the entrance.
Breakfast can be had at a very reasonable price.
Parking lot is unpaved but is an adequate size.
Whitetail is now 18 holes. The course has mixed the old with the new and you won't be able to tell which is which.
Years ago we were told not to venture too far off the beaten path because of poison ivy. I'm not sure this is much of a factor any more.
A driving range is available.
Whitetail is a bit of a hike from Ottawa so a round after work is out of the question. However, it is well worth a trip for an afternoon or on the weekend. A real cottages delight!
Take a cart if you're not a regular golfer. Some of the hills can be a difficult walk.

Greens have nice sizes and shapes... nothing too crazy but still very true and enjoyable.
Good conditioned fairways, nice width, nice rough, and overall great shape.
Nice a big tees and in good condition. What more do you want?
Good variations, some nice elevations, a nice layout and a nice change a pace from courses in the Ottawa area.
Excellent bang for the buck. Definitely worth the drive from cottage, and a nice way to spend the day with friends and family. Played with my son for the first time and truly enjoyed myself.
I played very well and had a great game, but it was a little too tough for my son and my friends son. I saw a few adults playing ahead of us who probably should have taken lessons as well, hehe.
Nice scenery, but not the Muskoka's I guess... but definitely still worth playing.
Staff were nice and friendly.
The clubhouse was a typical design and appearance. Nicely done.
Again, everything you'd expect with such a nice course,
Love the new design now that it's an 18 hole course. Good job, Whitetail.
