Date: 2007-Jul-06 Review by Dan P
Greens smallish in size except for hole #9.
Greens were of surprisingly decent condition for what was expected of the course.
Quite narrow fairways. Hey, it's an executive course! You really shouldn't be on the fairways any ways.
Rough and pitted tees. One under repair. Only one tee box per hole but one is all you need. Tees on two holes were positioned under trees and I couldn't not use the proper clubs to hit the greens. However, good practice.
Maximum use of space is very good.
Even with the course being very compact I never felt I was going to be on another fairway.
No real elevation changes but there is a bit of water and a few small bunkers. Hole #9 has a huge horseshoe bunker surrounding the green.
The par 4-7th is the only hole over 200 yards but because it's a sharp dogleg left you have to play to fairway.
A bit of fun for campers if you're staying onsite. A good starter course for young juniors or someone who is a beginner.
Course is tight and greens are small. Good practice course for your short game.
    Look for chipmunks and squirrels.
Lady at the desk was extremely pleasant and courteous. Beyond this lone encounter there was no one else visible. I'm sure during our hour and a half game there wasn't a single other person on the course.
    No clubhouse.
Park beside the course entrance on the grass.
One ball washer found on hole #5.
    Scorecard suits its purpose.
    Easy course to navigate.
    Bring your bug repellant.
Sandy Mountain Golf Course is an executive 9 hole course designed with campers in mind.
