Date: 2007-Oct-10 Review by Terry T
Greens were in excellent autumn condition with no apparent ball marks. Mix of larger and smaller greens (so accurate wedge shots are called for).
Fairways were alright for playable shots.
On a positive note, we really appreciated reading the "Tips from the Pro" which describe how to play each hole. These tips were found on the back of the yardage/picture layout sign on each tee box. Very handy for newcomers to the course since there are numerous blind tee shots over hills, doglegs etc. On the negative side, we found quite a few tee boxes uneven. If the club provided sand/seed containers on the par three tee boxes players could repair their own divots.
The course has a very interesting layout. There is lots of variety to the landscape - hills, doglegs, many water holes and some very inspiring elevated tees. Despite hills, we saw many golfers walking the course.
The course direction signs were easy to follow.
    Very reasonable green fees.
One member described the course, "there are a lot of holes with risk/reward golf shots". Since there are a large number of water hazards, some narrow fairways, numerous hidden holes and doglegs, some shots will be blind and for the first time golfer playing this course it is advisable to follow the "Tips from the Pro" if he or she wants to be rewarded. For first timers, bring some extra golf balls.

This course is located on the outskirts of Meaford, Georgian Bay. It is a very picturesque, mature course combining flat areas, valleys and hills. We played the course in a splendor of autumn colour. Many holes have ponds and creeks which often come into play. There are a lot of deciduous and coniferous trees. Some areas of the course are marked as environmentally sensitive and should not be entered to retrieve stray golf balls. The course surface had a very lush green appearance at this time of the year.
We met the owners of the course and they are hands on with all aspects of the business. They were very friendly and we felt welcome.
The clubhouse is an older building, fairly large, clean and serves its purpose. It has a small pro shop. The owners stated that they intend to replace the current club house with new facilities in the near future.
Convenient service - at the outset of your golf game, you may take a restaurant menu with you. When you arrive on the 18th tee box you may use a telephone connected to the clubhouse and order meals and beverages etc. which are then ready for you upon completion of your game. If a beverage cart is not on the course the day you play, golfers can purchase their beverages from the club and transport them in small cooler bags provided by the clubhouse.
Washrooms were clean and appropriately located on the course.
We look forward to playing this course on another occasion.
