The greens were fair. Practice green was much quicker than the course. Also, practice green has greater slope then greens on the course. Greens are a bit smaller than average. Repairing ball marks seems to be an issue.
Again, fairwars were fair. A few odd fairways that seemed to be rolling every yard. This must make cutting the grass evenly a bit difficult.
A few tees were well worn making it difficult to find a flat lie. Yardage signs were easy to find.
Course is relatively flat. The odd pond but not too many hazards to contend with.
Grass growing in the bunkers. Little to no lip on the bunkers. Very easy to 'putt' out of.
Not a course to rush back to but Manderley does offer a decent rate after 3pm. No cart is necessary.
Challenge factor is very average. I floundered on a few easy holes. The South 9 has a few tight fairways toward the end of the 9 that can cause some difficulty.
A clean course. Not much of a chance that some hole through the round will stick in your memory.
We saw the beverage cart before we started and a couple of more times before we were done the 3rd hole. Then, nothing. I guess the cart stops around 5pm.
Proshop attendant took my money with nary a smile or chatter.
Modest clubhouse with basic menu. A bit pricey.
Directions to next hole could be improved but if you follow the scorecard it won't be a problem. Things were acceptable but I couldn't identify anything that was done well.
Manderley On The Green offers 27 holes of similar playing. Located just south of Ottawa, it is easy to get to and probably has a high volume of tournaments.
Nothing spectacular but does provide a basic round of golf for a modest price.
