The developers of Irish Hills were fortunate in having available a parcel of land which was ideally suited for the construction of a challenging golf course. The terrain has a changing topography that slopes forty-five feet from the Carp Road to the Carp River, which winds through a par 3 at the eastern end of the property.
The golf course is routed through stands of mature deciduous trees. Natural springs throughout the property have provided the opportunity to construct ponds, which strategically come into play on eight of the golf holes.
Irish Hills is laid out and designed to present a challenge to every level of golfer. The main eighteen hole course measures 6637 yards from the blue tees, 6173 yards from the white tees 5831 yards from the gold and 5402 yards from the red tees. In addition, a challenging nine hole course is integrated into the eighteen hole golf course to provide you with a variety of challenges.

No temporary greens. One par 3 where the grass was a little long. Speed varied from green to green which was possibly due to wet weather over the past week.
Fairways were generally wide with little chance of getting into trouble. There didn't appear to be any 200 yard markers.
Yardage signs varied from scorecard the few holes I checked. Tee boxes were a little uneven but not terrible.
Irish Hills is close to a links style design with probably 12 holes that are open. Relatively flat and easy to walk. Water located on key holes, namely 9 and 18, along with a few others in between. Some bunkers were full of water.
After 3:00pm is $26 which is a bargain on weekends and holidays. I'd like to try this one again during mid-season. Normal rates during prime time are not exorbitant either.
    Course is relatively easy.
Pleasant, although the day was cloudy. Not a glamorous course but I don't believe there's a lot more that could be done short of dumping in a boat load of money.
A cold day, so no beverage cart was available. Attendant (our lone contact) in Pro Shop was courteous.
Clubhouse appeared nice from the outside. Pro Shop, oddly enough, is not part of the clubhouse. To get to the Pro Shop you have to circle around the first tee. Odd.
The one time I needed a ball washer was on the 17th and there wasn't one to be found.
Had a difficult time finding the 10th hole as there was poor signage.
No easy place to drop your clubs off.
No marshal on the course during this day and we could have used one as we played the last 5 holes behind a slow foursome who gave no indication that they were willing let us play through.
