The greens were great! I couldn't find any flaws, nor do I have any complaints. The speed was consistent and the contouring was to my liking. I don't have a negative thing to say except that I've played some nicer greens but not at this price.
The fairway stakes for yardages are at the side of the fairway.
Fairways are reasonable width but have some areas where they could be fixed. Overall, good shape.
Signage at tees was always available.
I'd consider the tees to be a bit narrow but still, they were in good shape.
There's some great holes at Paragon. The par 3 #13 is one of my favorites and hole #3 has a gorgeous tee shot.
Some tees are too close to the previous green.
Holes #1, #2, #8, and #16 have blind shots from the tee and possibly fairway.
I'd make Paragon a regular visit if the course was located close to home. This course could draw double the green fee if located near my home town of Ottawa.
I enjoy courses with elevation changes and water. Paragon offers both of these.
There was a good chance of recovery with errant tee shots on a number of holes. There are some great par 3s.
Hole #1 gives you a chance to get your driver loose then you'll have to start controlling your accuracy after that.
Paragon is very unassuming when you pull into the parking lot. You don't see much of the course from the road and the pro shop access isn't convenient. However, once on the course I was pleasantly surprised.
Some well-placed flower gardens are spotted throughout the course. The course was lush and well-maintained.
A beverage cart made regular stops.
The staff in the pro shop was courteous and helpful.
The clubhouse wasn't overly fancy but met the needs of supplying food and drink.
The pro shop was well-stocked with clothing and had other standard golf supplies.
The course has a nice flow and mix of holes.
The scorecard is a bit small but does contain a course layout and fits nicely in a back pocket.
I loved playing Paragon and it was a great course to start our Nova Scotia golf tour.
