The greens at Greenwood Golf Club were average size and speed but tricky as heck. The 18th green was larger in size than the rest but a tough pin placement could easily be had.
Fairways were in good shape with rough being a bit longer but didn't offer a significant increase in difficulty toward getting your ball back in play.
Only two sets of tees at Greenwood which was a bit surprising given the length of the course (6164 yards from the tips). Typically I'm accustom to seeing three or more sets at courses that exceed 6000 yards.
Many of the holes are sponsored by branches of the Canadian Military. A nice touch to the course as signage can be observed on many of the holes.
The course is very mature and many mature trees can be observed throughtout. Of particular note are the trees on hole #10.
The back nine offers two very tough back-to-back holes. #15 is a challenging par 5 while #16 is one of the longer par 4s in the province and only longer hitters will have a chance at reaching the green in two.
The clubhouse is quite nice and offers a decent meal while the pro shop has all the standard supplies.
Thanks to Ron and Charlie who accompanied us on our round at Greenwood. Charlie was a master at reading the greens. What's your secret?
