All greens were is decent shape but the speed was a bit on the slow side.
Fairways vary in width througout the course. The back nine can get very tight. Lots of clover was found in the rough but this doesn't distract a golfer in any way. 150 markers were in the middle of the fairway while other markers were located at the fairway sides.
Holes around the clubhouse are basic up and down (holes 1, 9, 10, and 19). These holes do not give you a good indication as to what the remainder of the course is like yet they are the holes most visible upon arrival.
All holes have names. I always like this about a course and take delight in finding out how the name was obtained. Sadly, I wasn't able to discuss the naming with a member or employee.
The par 3 4th (Cain's Folly) is an interesting hole which has a strong carry over water with no defined area for bail out. You'll want to make a strong approach to this hole. Hole #17 (Devil's Delight) is another par 3 that can easily add strokes to your game.
The Eden Golf & Country Club backs onto the Annapolis River. Although the river doesn't (or shouldn't) come in to play when you're on the back holes our golf game seemed to get very serene and the quiet sound of river was the only audible sound. The aptly named 7th hole, Beside Still Waters, attests my observation.
You'll encounter a number of environmental hazards throughout the course so be aware of these areas.
Hey, I want my logo golf balls! I usually collect a logo ball from every course I play but sadly Eden didn't have any.
I was quite surprised at the number of golfers out at the course because the course location didn't strike me as being ideal. However, the vehicle count obviously proved me wrong.
Eden Golf & Country Club is my vision of a true country course.
